that temperatures at 36 degrees. 40 in davidsonville. elkton at 35 and we have a light wind. it's light and variable but still that is making the temperatures feel a little bit chillier this morning. so be prepared for that. now we go to the radar. not a lot to see. we are nice and dry across the area this morning and also into the evening we will stay that way. good times ahead if you like the dry weather. today's forecast, hour by hour, this is what it looks like as we go through time. starting you out at 8:00, still quite cold. temperature at 38 degrees. not really budging that much. we will see plenty of clouds around today. maybe a few peeks of some sunshine. but as we go into lunchtime today, 47 degrees. and only bumping up just one degree by 3:00. 48 degrees. it is going to be -- that will be your high and it's going to be chilly. let's get a check now of the abc2 timesaver traffic with lauren cook. good morning. good morning lynette. i'm tired of the cold weather already. hasn't even started really yet. oh. and thanksgiving right around the corner. should be a lot of fun as the

holidays do approach. if you are traveling in baltimore county we have a crash on 795. right along the southbound lanes at owings mills boulevard. and here's what 695 looks like as we check in and take a look outside. here at liberty road traffic picking up on the outer loop. you're looking at a 12 minute ride right now. not too bad. as you do travel from 695 down to 95. congestion starting to build here in parkville. but no delays as of yet. you're looking at an 11 minute ride on the outer loop if 95up to 83. if you are using the jfx to get downtown going to take you 12 minutes right now southbound from 695 to fayette street. that's a look at your abc2 timesaver traffic. megan and charlie, over to you. we have learned general david petraeus will now testify at a hearing tomorrow about the benghazi attack that killed is u.s. ambassador and three other americans. >> this morning abc2 news linda so is here with the details on the hearing and whether or not we're going to be able to hear it live. linda? >> reporter: it will happen behind closed doors at a house

intelligence committee hearing. we learned petraeus will testify early friday morning. when the attacken had in benghazi killed four americans on september 11th petraeus personally flew there to investigate. he was originally scheduled to testify in hearings this week, bathoses derailed when -- but that was derailed afterred a mything toen a affair -- admitting to an affair. president obama weighed in for the first time since the scandal broke. >> i have no evidence at this point from what i've seen that classified information was disclosed. that in any way would have had a negative impact on our national security. >> reporter: and the president says he hopes in the end, the paula broadwell affair will be a simple blip on radar so petraeus' other side stellar -- otherwise stellar career, linda so, abc2 news. a police officer put their lives on the line every day and one officer came very close to losing his life. take a look at this video from

dashcam and a car you can sigh coming right at the officer's vehicle. barely swerving to avoid a straight head-on collision. now the officer maintained his composure and getting out to check and see if the driver was okay and the clearing of the road. and getting other motorists out of the way. now the police chief knows this could have been much worse. >> it could have been terrible. i mean i could have been -- very bad. i could have been making a call to the parents of loved ones of much more severe situation of an officer killed. or even the other driver. >> now the officer had minor injuries but should be back on the job in a week or two. still no word on what caused the other driver to lose control of his car. you may want to carry some hand sanitizer the next time you fly out of town. >> consider yourself warned because in preparation for thanksgiving travel, is microbiology professor at the university of arizona came up with the top three germiest spots if you fly.

this is your news news to go on this thursday -- abc2 news to go on this thursday morning, i'm megan pringle. >> and i'm charlie crowson. >> 30 degrees union bridge right now and temperatures won't bunch too much throughout the day staying well below average. 35 degrees in sykesville with a light and variable wind. and annapolis coming in at 41 degrees. as we take a look at maryland's most powerful radar. not a whole lot to see. no type of rain. we are scanning the skies to see if we get any today but we

should be dry through the morning and also as we go through the afternoon. we look at the planner and this is what it looks like as we go through the lunchtime hour. temperature at 37-degrees and still quite chilly. let's get a check now of the abc2 timesaver traffic with lauren cook. we have a cold start and unfortunately we are dealing with some incidents out on the roads. we have a crash on 795 right now right along the southbound lanes at owings mill boulevard. the jfx is clear but you want to to be aware of debris removal that's shut down falls road between lafayette avenue and clipper mill road. it will be closed through november 18th so definitely stick with the jfx to get around the closures. water main break repairs do continue to shut down north charles street. and you will want to expect congestion in mount vernon due to water main break repairs on madison street near gillford avenue. stick with calvert or 83 to avoid the closures. here's what 95 looks like at

395. traffic moving right along no problems getting through the fort mchenry tunnel. and this is what 695 looks like in parkville. traffic definitely starting to pick up on the outer loop but it's on going to take you 12 minutes to travel from 95 up to 83. the inner loop will be clear down to 95. megan and charlie, over to you. breaking news to tell you about from fell's point this morning. >> police just cleared the area after getting a call that someone was in the harbor. >> abc2 news' sherrie johnson joins us live and what are you hearing if police? >> reporter: we are here live in federal hill overlooking the inner harbor. at 4:38 this morning police responded and found an adult female in the water in the 2300 block of boston street. that's on the pier side. she was rescued from the water by officers and the marine unit and taken to a local hospital. right now police are not sure how she ended up in the water and police tell us the information is preliminary and it could change. now officers say there was nothing suspicious at the

scene. a person walking in that area saw the woman in the water and immediately contacted police. reporting live in federal hill, sherrie johnson, abc2 news. all new this morning another popular energy drink is now under fire. >> the fda is investigating five hour energy drinks. and it is possible that it is linked to more than a dozen deaths. >> abc2 news linda so is live this morning with the details. linda, how many people have died from this? >> reporter: over the last four years the fda has received reports that 13 people have died all possibly linked to the five hour energy drink. this comes just a couple overweenings after the fda consider of weeks after -- of weeks after the fda began investigating five deaths possibly linked to monster energy drink. you'll remember the parents of the 14-year-old hagerstown girl was suing the maker of monster energy saying the caffeine in the drink criminated to her death. that -- contributed to her death. that girl went into cardiac arrest after drinking two 24- ounce monster drinks in a 24 hour period. the fda says five hour energy

has been mentioned in about 90 filings with the agency and 30 of them include serious of life- threatening injuries like heart attacks and in one case a spontaneous abortion. the drink is sold in a two ounce battle and referred to as a shot. the company doesn't disclose the amount of caffeine in each bottle. but "consumer reports" recently published an article sayings the level was about 215- milligrams, that's the equivalent of a 16-ounce cup of coffee. linda so, abc2 news. a professor attainer began state is in trouble with the law this morning accused of getting research grants fraudulently. prosecutors say that manoj kumar jha claimed to work on the construction project with a company and eight employees. he received about $200,000 in grant funding for a highway project. he used that money to pay personal expenses prosecutors say. job processfects for new college graduates are improving. employers expect a 5% increase

in hiring. new four year graduates. that's a 30% increase for two year degree holders. if you have an mba, hiring in those fields is expected to decline. the survey paints the mixed picture for an improving economy but also uncertainty over whether we are going to get off that fiscal cliff. it's going to cost your employer a little bit more this year to pay for the health care benefits. it's the smallest increase in 15 years. according to health consultant mercer they will see the cost jump 4.5%. they say because companies have the 2014 implementation of the health care reform, they're making greater efforts to cut costs. passing that expense on and the risk to you. so are you looking for a reason to quit smoking? how about because today is the great american smokeout. it's a day started by the american cancer society to help people stop puffing away on smokes. now smoke you cannot only causes all kinds of diseases and cancers it can affect your everyday life. among them the university of

back by 5:00 tonight. the company has been dealing with work stoppages for two- thirds of its plants. the company says it will be forced to liquidate the entire business that could result in nearly 18,000 lost jobs. bp is expected to admit to criminal misconduct in connection with the 2010 oil spill in the gulf. reports say that bp and the justice department have cut a plea deal and details could be announced today. the company will acknowledge some type of criminal behavior and is expected to pay a huge fine in exchange for a waiver of future prosecution on these charges. and president obama will be in new york today. he's going to be visiting some of the storm damaged areas and thank first responders for their hard work. the governor said he'll ask for $30 billion in federal aid to help rebuild after sandy. today you can get some free food while helping others at the same time. from 9:00 in the morning until 9:00 p.m. chick-fil-a is giving away free sandwiches to anyone who brings

is nonperishable food item. it's for sandy victims. everything collected will go to those no new york, new jersey and maryland. time now for one more check of the forecast with lynette. what's going on out there? >> we're cold charlie and also have some clouds out there as well. but we're going get some nyjer morgan in here but -- some sunshine in here but today more clouds than what we had yesterday. don't think it's going to be the bright day that we saw but it's not going to be socked in for today as well. so right in the middle. as we look down towards the south. well, we have some rain across the area. that's really what's funneling in the clouds. and as we look back to the west, well we have an area of high pressure the two are really trying to fight it out. so we'll see who wins but the clouds will be in for the day. peeks of sunshine as well. and we could see exactly what i'm talking about as i take you outdoors this morning. we're looking at bel air into motion and we can see and clouds and the sun really trying to get through the area. that'll be the remainder of the day. be prepared for that. also the cold temperatures this morning. coming in at 33 degrees.
